1935_full_zoya_factorAnuja Chauhan is the writer to look out for. Her first The Zoya Factor, is nothing less than an amazing read. The book is full of not only cricket & luck, but a lot of romance, fun, action, excitement, climax & anti-climax. The book is an excellent one and a must buy. I read very frequently and The Zoya Factor is definitely one of the fun and best works of an Indian author.

It is definitely based on a theme which can never fail; cricket, romance, lucky charm, superstars all rolled in one exciting tale. Reasons why I loved this book and would recommend it:

Zoya Solanki, the main protagonist – a 28 years old advertising professional whose charm works magic and wonders for the Indian Cricket team. Man, she is so relatable, I (any girl for that matter) can relate to her in every aspect. She is quirky yet sensible, child-like yet mature, loves being pampered but not at the cost of her self esteem. Her language, the incidents she gets herself into are so me. And are so like any educated middle class girl who lives life on her own terms and has kept the little girl alive within her.

The Zoya-Nikhil relationship which is curvier than roads in the hills and you never know what turn it might take. NZ (Nikhil-Zoya) have their share of arguments, ego clashes, love making, dates, misunderstanding, and multiple exchanges of messages. You actually start going through what they are going through in their relationship.

The manly, boost eyed Nikhil Khoda, the man who is the captain of the Indian cricket team. The guy is what every girl wants, successful with his feet grounded, romantic, emotional yet mature, rich and what a dish!!! He is just the ideal match for Zoya. The cherry on the cake is Zahid Pathan-The baccha, youngest player in the team with washboard abs and a fab relationship with Gaalu (Zoya).

The description of the matches was like you are watching a live cricket match, the Jay-Beeru commentary & the spicy gossip add to the fun.

Zoya’s dad, Zoravar (her brother) and Eppa (her nanny) all can easily be found in our houses. In fact the entire Solanki clan of Tera Number in Karol Bagh (Zoya’s residence) is so Delhi and so realistic. Personally when I read about Eppa, I thought of my bua. The entire office staff and the other characters add to the fun…

So all you people out there!!! Do yourself a favour and grab a copy of The Zoya Factor today…
