It’s your show!… It’s your time!… It’s showtime!

One Saturday I woke up very late because I went to a bar the previous night with friends.. Oh my gosh! I woke up at almost noon. I had to rush because I had an appointment to school with my student at 1:00 pm because it was examination week. On my way to the bathroom my attention was caught with what I have heard and my eyes were stuck on the television. It was the weekly finals of the new television show  titled “SHOWTIME” . It is a nationwide talent search of dance group. The groups showcase amazing dance moves , terrific choreography and very creative costumes. The participants were performing to the highest level. The live audiences were very energetic participating in giving a hint scores for the celebrity judges. Right after the performance of each group, the celebrity judges gave their criticism towards the performance. Positive, negative and funny criticism could be heard from the respected judges. I almost fell off the couch hearing the comment of one of the judges a famous comedian because he often cracked a  joke while giving a meaningful criticism.The participants were open in accepting all the good and bad criticism thrown by the celebrity judges. My bet entry won the search.

On the bathroom while taking my shower, I reflected with what I saw. The talent search does not only showcase talents or groups to be discovered but rather there is a deeper meaning that I have found out. I realized that we are also performers and the  judge is our almighty GOD. We must perform to the best of our capability in doing good things to ourselves, family, neighbor and community. We must wear the best costume of pure heart and clean mind. We must be synchronized in loving each and every individual to impress our very own judge. He may not say a word of criticism nor appreciation, he may not crack a joke to entertain us… the  verdict will be in accordance to his most holy will.The judgment day is near so, we should be ready and be well equipped  with hope in our hands. We must rehearse and practice his words and commandments  and do everything to win the contest because it’s our time to shine.
