siesta, on a happy terrace

in a love licked sultry noon

when i happened  to see

him, flying kites, a few terraces away.

shadows flew over my eyes

my pupils dilated to catch his

the kite soared at heights, purple

and blue in sweet delights.

i could see the beads of love

seeping through my pores

and i could see him sparkling

shirtless, all in love i guess.

i called out his name, a word

as exotic as the honey of

the Mediterranean flowers

and every time i rolled out his name

my heart trickles with every sound.

he waved in haste, clinging fast

to that string, and when i called again

looked back in smile, and rolled out

an “i love you”!

the sun however, stole it from my

eyes

but my heart trapped it in sweet

echoes, and i kept hearing it for the

rest of my life!
