The Beach Boys – Legacy Prevails

The Beach Boys, a famous American rock band has been popular for its songs related to surfing, cars and girls. This band formed in 1961 in Hawthorne, California. The band included three brothers, Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson along with their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. Mike was the regular singer of this band and Brian did most of lyrics writing. The group officially changed the name of their band to ‘The Beach Boys’ on 8th December 1961.
Murray Wilson, Brian’s father initially wrote songs for this band, but later on the band themselves managed their own songs as Brian Wilson himself wrote few great numbers, which made them, reach on the top.
Their famous “Surfin’ Safari” had broken all the records and was a smashing hit. Beach Boys sung most of the recognizable songs in the history. Though these pop songs belong to 1960, people still relate to them. Many of these hit songs made them pop stars in all the countries.
People their work and many songs of them including “When you wish upon a star”, “God only knows” and “Surfer girl” etc went out to gain accolades. Brian Wilson worked hard to survive in the tough competition. His song, “Good vibrations” became the Beach Boys biggest hit till date.
The song even tagged to be the ‘Best rocking singles of all time’. Mojo Music Magazine awarded this song the title of ‘Greatest Single of all times’.
Though this band had its share of up and downs in their career, they tried and survived their legacy. Few accomplishments of this group include the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame, the Granny Lifetime Achievement Award, Hit Parade Hall of Fame and many more. The Beach Boys truly are legends!

I ve been a great fan of Beach boys myself, and though they are a history, reviving them means a lot.
